Become CPIM
Certified in Planning and Inventory Management

Why should you become CPIM certified?

The pandemic has revealed the weak points of the supply chain. Consumer behavior has changed and with it the demands on the supply chain of companies.

The Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) certificate provides you with the knowledge and tools to respond to supply disruptions, demand fluctuations and manage supply chain risks.

Earning the APICS CPIM demonstrates mastery of an organization’s internal operations and an in-depth understanding of materials management, master scheduling, forecasting, production planning and how it applies across the extended supply chain.

The CPIM certificate sets you apart from your peers and proves your expertise in supply chain management. According to ASCM, CPIM graduates raise their salaries by up to 21%.

CPIM 1 for juniors in Supply Chain Management

For entry level professionals, planners like supply planners, production planners and ERP consultants

Covers fundamental concepts, tools and terminology in managing the complete flow of materials in the supply chain from suppliers to customers

You get a complete overview of material flow, from internal and external suppliers, to and from your organization

CPIM Part 1 should be a prerequisite for everyone who is working in the supply chain. It provides you with an overview of the internal operations of your company. It also gives a lot of attention to a "common language”, which diminishes misunderstandings due to lack of knowledge of terminology, concepts and definitions

It is also applicable for employees working in non-operations field e.g. sales, engineering warehousing, order entry, IT etc. It could be interesting to learn the basic principles

Starting with CPIM Part 1 will help you see the entire picture before moving on CPIM Part 2 that focuses on management of operations. CPIM Part 2 is for future Production Managers

CPIM Part 1 covers former module The Basics of Supply Chain Management (BSCM)
